UPDATE: The original university press release on this project contained an error. The correct general contractor is Korsmo Construction of Tacoma.
The University of Puget Sound is planning a new residence and event hall, scheduled to open on the Tacoma campus in fall 2013.
The five-story building will feature modern interior spaces and a traditional Tudor Gothic exterior. It will offer 135 single bedrooms for students. The hall will also include new spaces for teaching, meetings, and activities.
Preliminary work for the 55,000-square-foot building began in May on the corner of North 13th and Lawrence streets.
Bohlin Cywinski Jackson of Seattle designed the new building.
The Seattle office of Skanska Korsmo Construction of Tacoma is the project’s general contractor.
