Puyallup Police, fire officials on the lookout for illegal fireworks

Puyallup Police officers and officials from Central Pierce Fire and Rescue will be on the lookout for illegal fireworks Tuesday and Wednesday.

The city says the agencies are teaming up for an emphasis patrol.

Fireworks may only be set off in the city from 9 am. to 11 p.m. Wednesday. The city has more information, including an interview with Central Pierce Assistant Chief Randy Stephens, on its website.

Communities in Pierce County have varying fireworks rules; some of them haved discussed toughening their rules in recent years.
