Tickets are on sale for a home and garden tour on Sunday, June 10, that benefits the University Place Historical Society.
The tour runs from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and features four mid-century homes and gardens and one urban farm.
The tour is emphasizing mid-century Modern homes because this architectural style rose to prominence at a time when the area experienced rapid growth from 1940 to 1976. Gardens are equally important on the tour as they demonstrate UP’s early history as an agricultural center.
Tickets are $20. They can be purchased at:
• Grassi’s Flowers and Gifts, 1702 Pacific Avenue and 3602 Center Street in Tacoma
• Massimo’s Italian Bar and Grill, 4020 Bridgeport Way in University Place
• Westside Community Bank, 4922 Bridgeport Way in University Place
• Willow Tree Gardens and Interiors, 7216 27th St. West in University Place
On Sunday, tickets can only be purchased at the Curran House, one of the homes on the tour itinerary. It is located at 4009 Rock Road in University Place and was recently listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
