Lake Tapps’ spring refill is done, and the East Pierce County reservoir is at summer recreation level, its owner announced today.

Cascade Water Alliance said the lake has reached 542.5 to 542.7 feet and is expected to hold there through the recreation season, which generally lasts through September.

The consortium of King County cities and water and sewer districts bought the lake in 2009 to eventually use as a regional drinking water source. But, the group has said, plenty of water still will remain for recreation. The lake is a popular spot for boaters, swimmers and sunbathers.
