The Bethel School Board will hold a special meeting from 6 to 8:45 p.m. Tuesday April 17 to interview finalists who applied to fill a vacancy for the position of Director District 4 on the board.

Finalists include Michael Audas, Miles Hall and Matt Hamilton.

The board will meet at the district Educational Service Center, 516 176th St. E., Spanaway.

The vacancy occurred after previous board member Joy Cook resigned. District 4 covers the Graham area.

The public is welcome to observe the interview process. Following the interviews, board members will recess to executive session for 30 minutes to review qualifications of the candidates. The executive session is closed to the public. Following the executive session, the board will reconvene in open session to take action on appointing a new member to represent District 4.

The board recently appointed Stanley Chapin to represent Director District 3, which covers the Elk Plain-Spanaway area. He filled a vacancy left by the resignation of board member Marianne Lincoln.
