Walkers raise money for American Heart Association

Nearly 10,000 people participated in Heart Walks sponsored by the American Heart Association Saturday morning in Seattle and Tacoma, according to a news release from the American Heart Association.
Together, the walks raised more than $1.4 million to help fight heart disease and stroke. The top fundraising team from Tacoma was the City of Tacoma team, which raised more than $22,600 and had more than 140 walkers registered.
