From education reporter Debbie Cafazzo:

A divided Tacoma School Board decided tonight to forge ahead with a plan to name Deputy Superintendent Carla Santorno to two successive temporary posts.

The board voted 4-1 tonight to name Santorno first as superintendent elect (interim) beginning in January then as interim superintendent from July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013.
