Now that downtown Tacoma’s T City Grocers has a sign, where’s the wine? (Oh, there it is). Store opens next Wednesday.

This cool sign was installed last week, a sure sign that the opening of downtown Tacoma’s first full-serving grocery since Manning’s closed is imminent. Pacific Plaze developer Dan Putnam told our reporter Lewis Kamb the 16,000 square foot store is set to open next Wednesday.

The sign is on the 13th and Pacific corner of Pacific Plaza

But a sign is on the outside, what’s on the inside? Here’s the display window near the corner.

Here’s a link to the store’s webpage.

Tacoma has always been T-Town to me. T-City, what?

  2. The official name is Tacoma City Grocer.

  3. It’s a strange sign. Seems like it’s missing letters.

Actually, the official name is just City Grocer. The “T” is just part of the large monumental sign. It’s not missing letters.
