PHOTO AND REPORT FROM PETER HALEY: Metro parks employee Brad Peacock uses a grappler to pick up trash under the historic Fireboat No. 1 on Ruston Way the morning after Tacoma’s Freedom Fair celebration on July 4. “I’ve been doing this for about 20 years, and this is about the least amount of littler I’ve seen, ” he said. Metro parks staff and volunteers had nearly all the waterfront cleaned up by mid-morning.

I noticed that too last night – less litter on the ground. Nice job, Tacoma!

Agreed Kevin, All in all, everybody was cool, and didn’t really see anybody getting out of hand. And yes, alot less trash everywhere.

  3. I was pretty impressed this morning on the way to work – Ruston did not look bad at all, especially compared with previous years.
