Fife City Council member Don Alveshere has resigned because he is moving outside of the Fife city limits.

Alveshere was elected to a four-year term that expires at the end of 2013. The City Council is expected to appoint someone to fill Alveshere’s spot until voters elect someone in November for the remainder of the term.

Aleveshere has worked as the assistant director for the Washington Department of Services for the Blind.

In announcing his resignation May 10, Alveshere praised the council for working toward transparency in government.
