Representatives from Tacoma police, Safe Streets, Wright Park and Stadium businesses, area apartments, churches and the community as a whole will discuss street safety in Tacoma’s North downtown Friday.

The community conversation will be held at 7:30 p.m.  at First United Methodist Church at 621 Tacoma Ave. S.

Area residents and business owners are concerned about increases in crime in the neighborhood along with a sense of needing to be on guard, especially at night, and plan to discuss ways to improve safety for everyone.

The forum is intended to generate ideas and open the conversation.

The discussion is part of an ongoing lecture series called New Frontiers Forum held at First United Methodist on the first Friday of each month.

The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will follow the discussion.

Let’s go march and hold signs at 3 in the afternoon to lets the crooks know they are not welcome. That always works, just ask the city manager.
