Kids always have a fascination with trucks. For that matter, so do many adults.

So, if you’re inclined, you can clamber into a driver’s seat and even honk a horn

on a variety of vehicles during the Touch-A-Truck event at Sprinker Recreation Center on Saturday.

It’s set for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the center’s parking lot and will include “military and construction vehicles, fire engines, command center, public safety equipment and more,” according to a news release from Pierce County.

Kids are encouraged to touch and climb on all of the vehicles as they learn about what each one does in the community, the news release adds.

But all the horn honking has to take place by noon. The period from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. is a designated¬† “no horns” time for people sensitive to the noise.

Children must be accompanied by an adult.
