I do hope that I don’t appear insensitive to this woman’s family and friends, but I just don’t see a correlation between this lady’s killing and the need for an entire city’s flag system being flown at half-mast in her honor. There have been hundreds of local military individuals that have been killed in battle in support of this country – and none of them have ever received such a gesture. Not only those soldiers, but how about other victims of killing that have taken place here in Tacoma? It boggles my mind that such notoriety is being displayed because of this incident.

Remember the young Tacoma Public School elementary teacher who was recently stalked (yes, I said STALKED) by a former acquaintance and then brutally murdered right on school property? Where was the city of Tacoma’s compassion for that family?

As I said, it boggles my mind that such notoriety is being displayed because of this incident. I would hope that the very next individual who is killed in Tacoma will be granted the same privileges that this lady is receiving. And I would hope that Northwest Embroidery will donate some hats for that occasion also.
