If your dog is yearning to be legal, if you wish you had what it takes to visit Victoria, if your boat needs tabs and your sweetheart wants a ring, Saturday is your lucky day.

It’s the Pierce County Auditor’s Office’s summer Saturday Fair, replete with all your licensing needs. And it’s a boon for working folks who have a tough time getting to the offices during the week.

From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., staff will be on hand to give you forms and accept your payment for marriage, pet, vehicle and boat licenses and passports. Pierce County Auditor Julie Anderson noted that the U.S. State Department will be increasing passport fees by 47 percent.

Here’s what you’ll need:

• For vehicles and boats: License plate number or registration, your identification, vehicle emissions test, if necessary, and payment by check or in cash.

• For marriage licenses: Both of you, in person, driver’s license or military or state identification, and $64 in cash or cashier’s check. Personal checks won’t work, and you must be at least 18 years old.

• For new pet licenses: Proof that the pet has been spayed or neutered, and the appropriate fee in cash or check.

• For new passports: Certified birth certificate or proof of U.S. citizenship, driver’s license, military or state ID, social security number, and two passport photos. The photos will be available for $12. Passport fees vary and must be paid by check or money order, not cash.
