The open house, scheduled from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, also will include information about other events at Chambers Bay, including the opening of the Bridge to the Beach in September and private funding for the Playground by the Sound.

It will be held at the county’s Environmental Services Building, 9850 64th St. W., University Place. The City of University Place is co-hosting the open house.

The U.S. Amateur is is scheduled at the county course Aug. 23-29.

The kickoff this week will include plans for parking and traffic, details on when the course will be closed for the championship and ticket sales, according to a news release from the county.

Members of the public also will be able to talk to representatives of the United States Golf Association.

And if you want to grab a club, there will be a putting contest.

The Environmental Services Building is located off of Grandview Drive.
