Our news partner KIRO-TV reports that Waste Management has announced that there will be no garbage collection today in its service areas in King and Snohomish counties because the the garbage haulers’ strike.

“If your garbage and yard waste collection was scheduled for today, we will collect up to twice the regular amount of garbage and yard waste next Thursday, April 29,” Waste Management said in a statement this morning.

The company said recyclables will be picked up on the next scheduled collection day.

Waste Management picks up garbage in Federal Way, Auburn, Algona, Pacific and much of unincorporated King County.
