University Place schools are inviting residents to celebrate the opening of their new junior high school.
The school district will hold a dedication ceremony 6 p.m., Oct. 1 at Curtis Junior High school, 3725 Grandview Drive W.
The $55 million junior high was part of an $86 million bond University Place voters approved in 2006. The school district replaced the old building, although the junior is located next to Curtis High School and district offices.
The school officially opened to students Sept. 1. (Above is a picture of Curtis Junior High School from the University Place School District Web site)
The school district is expecting about 1,000 people to show up for the dedication ceremony, which will take place in the gymnasium. Refreshments will be served.
