University Place will hold a meeting Thursday about beach access on Day Island.

I wrote about the issue in May.

The meeting starts 6:30 p.m., at the Day Island Clubhouse, 1965 E. Day Island Blvd. W.

Here is the press release that University Place sent:

Over the years, the City has received a number of inquiries related to public access and private use of the City’s rights-of-way, including rights-of-way that provide public access to the beach. These inquiries often involve competing interests and touch on policy issues that have legal and policy implications city-wide.

We would like to invite you and your neighbors on Day Island to a community discussion on these topics. It is our hope that we can answer questions and attempt to develop a community consensus on how we should address these issues in the future.
