Steilacoom Historical School District spokeswoman Nancy Covert sent word of when the community can hear from the two finalists for interim school superintendent.

Community forums are scheduled at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday, at the Pioneer Middle School cafeteria, 511 Chambers St., Steilacoom.

Last Saturday, the Steilacoom Historical School board met with five semi-finalists before whittling the field down to two: Barry Gourley and Cathy Davidson.

Tuesday, residents can chat with Gourley, executive director of Nebraska-based Family Services Association and

former superintendent of the Hockinson School District. (The school district is located in Bush Prairie, about 10 miles northeast of Vancouver)

On Wednesday, the public can talk with Cathy Davidson, former chief of staff with the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction and former superintendent with the Central Kitsap School District.

Both are trying to fill the interim position that was created when Superintendent Art Himmler announced earlier this year that he’s taking a similar job in Omak.

For more information, visit the school district’s Web site.
