A ghost at the Pantages Theater speaks?

Kim Varian of Paranormal Washington has agreed to share a little of what she found Monday night at The Pantages Theater.

In reviewing the voice recorders set up in the darkened theater she said she found "audio clips of the same female voice that was speaking in a language I believe is Italian. The voice is heard at two different times in the evening in the same location."

She forwarded to The News Tribune a clip of the recording of the woman’s voice. (Paranormal Washington retains full copyright for use of the audio clip.)

On the clip, Varian is heard saying "that’s interesting" and then a female voice apparently singing something that sounds like "Mia Mi" can be heard.

Varian doesn’t know what is being said and would like to find someone who understands Italian. She said the group’s founder Kelly Beem also has found two photographs "of great interest" that will be published later.

Beem said Thursday in an e-mail that the audio clips are "compelling" evidence.

A recent sighting of a woman in the theater balcony by a staff member led to a ghost hunt Monday night by Paranormal Washington, a relatively new spirit investigating group. They brought infrared cameras, voice recorders and electromagnetic field detectors and spent seven hours in the dark.

No apparitions were seen.

Varian said a full report of the investigation will be posted later to the group’s Web site.

The News Tribune makes no claim of authenticity, but check it out. You can decide.
