Tide scores late twice to earn draw at Crossfire

Redmond, WA — Tacoma Tide FC forward Chris Sanders scored goals in the 81st and 87th minutes to rally the Yellows to a 2:2 draw with Washington Crossfire on Monday May 23rd at Redmond High School. For the second straight match Tacoma fell behind by two goals before finishing strong. In five all-time meetings the clubs have drawn four times. Tacoma has the lone win.

Washington Crossfire took the lead in the 7th minute on an unassisted goal by Alex Klein. After surrendering nine goals without an answer in their opening two losses, the boys from Redmond notched their first goal of the season.

Tide Add 13 Ahead of Friday’s Home Opener

Tacoma Tide FC begin their 2011 United Soccer Leagues PDL campaign this Friday May 13 with a 7 PM match against the North Sound SeaWolves at Stadium Bowl. In preparation for the opener the Tide announce the signing of thirteen players, pushing the Tacoma roster to twenty-two.Adam Bettencourt was a part of Tide Open Tryouts in early April. Now the 6 foot Sacramento State Hornet junior is joining Tacoma to strengthen the Yellows midfield defense. He impressed early on and Tide brass have been anxious for his arrival.
