Sounders Women Add Elite College Stars

SoundersWomen.com - The Sounders Women have signed four college standouts for the 2012 W-League campaign. The Sounders add two University of Washington Huskies, a Wisconsin Badger, and an Alabama Crimson Tide. The signees are all defensive minded, with three playing in the back and the forth; a goal keeper. The defenders are Annie Sittauer (Washington), Lindsey Johnson (Wisconsin), and Ashley Willis (Alabama). The goalkeeper is Megan Kufeld (Washington).

Sounders Women Sign 4 More

SoundersWomen.com - The Sounders Women have officially signed four more players for the 2012 W-League campaign. The Sounders add three college graduates and a local high school standout, who is headed to the University of Washington in the fall. The signees are Sophie Reiser (Columbia U.), Victoria Frederick (Alabama), Kara Kuttler (Seattle U.), and Isabel Farrell (to U.W.).

Meet Sounders Women at Sounders U-23 Historic Event

Sounders Women, May 4 Match SOLD OUT

Added Seats Going on Sale April 26 @ 3pm

SoundersWomen.com – The Sounders Women have sold out the May 4 match against the University of Washington. The original stadium capacity for the Starfire Stadium of 4,500 has been sold out for more than three weeks prior to kickoff.

In order to accommodate the increasing request for additional tickets, the Sounders Women will be adding a limited number of Bleacher Seating Tickets for the May 4, 7:30pm match. The additional number of tickets will go on sale at 3pm on Thursday, April 26th on SoundersWomen.com.

Sounders Women sign USA star Megan Rapinoe

SoundersWomen.com – Sounders Women announced today the signing of World Cup star, Megan Rapinoe for the 2012 season.

The University of Portland product has played 47 matches and scored 12 goals for Team U.S.A.   Rapinoe is best known for her success in the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup. During the quarterfinal match against Brazil, Rapinoe came on as a sub and lofted a cross into the box for Abby Wambach’s game-tying, extra-time header. Megan would later convert her shot during the penalty shootout to help send the United States to the semifinals in a miraculous fashion.

Sounders Women single match tickets go on sale

SoundersWomen.com – The Sounders Women have announced that individual match tickets are now on sale at SoundersWomen.com.

The Sounders Women will host 10 matches for the 2012 season.  All home matches will be played at Starfire Sports Stadium. Sounders Women will kick off their season with 3 exhibition matches. The first, against Seattle Pacific University, is on April 9th. The Sounders Women will play Seattle University and the University of Washington before heading into the W-League home opener on May 31st vs. Colorado Rush.

Danish Champion Returns Home

SoundersWomen.com – It has been seven years since Megan Manthey has played in front of family and friends. This year, she will. After soccer academy in Florida, college soccer in Colorado and Charleston, and 3 years playing professional soccer in Denmark (where she won 3 Danish Championships), Manthey returns to Washington to play for the Seattle Sounders Women.
