No Cascadia Summit this preseason; Mexican club could come in for Community Shield charity game

In response to some questions I’ve been receiving: the Sounders are still arranging their preseason game schedule.

However …

The club is trying to secure a home-and-away pair of games with a Mexican club as part of preparations for their CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal series against Santos Laguna. If a Mexican club visits in the preseason, that match could be designated as this season’s Community Shield charity game.

Meanwhile, there are no plans for a Cascadia Summit round-robin of games with Vancouver and Portland this preseason as there was last spring.
