Sounders Women donate tickets to Somalia club

Tukwila, WA – As part of the Seattle Sounders Women’s community outreach efforts in the greater Renton area, the team has recently donated 100 tickets to the Somalia Youth and Family Club for the team’s upcoming June 12th match against the Los Angeles Strikers. The SYFC is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing various services to Somali and other under served families. The Sounders Women and Starfire Sports have partnered with the SYFC to assist with its youth soccer program that extends to all refugee students within King County. Sounders Women Win in LA, 2-1

The Sounders Women picked up their first win of the W-League season, and they did it on the road. The Sounders broke the deadlock with less than 15 minutes remaining in the 1st half, on a goal from Emily Hurd, who plays collegiately at Penn State.

Things became tense when the LA Strikers equalized on a shot into the upper corner by Amy Chapman, of the Australian National Team. The 2nd half goal left things tied at Pasadena City College.
