Sounders U-23’s Earn 1st Round NCAA Victories

Tacoma, WA. – Thursday November 21st marked the start of the NCAA Men’s Soccer Tournament. Sounders U-23 talent from eight schools made the tournament and five of them played in Thursday’s first round action.
University of Akron-
University of Akron beat University of Indiana 3-2 in their first round matchup off a 48th minute game winner. Akron quickly went up 3-0 with Sounders U-23 Aodhan Quinn scoring a goal and assisting on the team’s game winner.

Tracking the Sounders of Tomorrow

Tacoma, WA – While the Seattle Sounders FC and other MLS squads are battling on the field for top honors in the 2012 MLS season, there is also a competition behind the scenes to build the strongest squad for future. Teams that develop youth players through their academy system will not have to expend a valuable draft pick when those players leave college. Instead, the can sign their “Homegrown Player” directly to the MLS squad.
