Seattle Impact FC held an introductory press conference this morning at what will be their home arena: the ShoWare Center in Kent.

A few highlights:

The team will play a 20-game season running from November to February. The schedule is expected to be released in September.

The owner is Dion Earl, a former Sounder and SeaDog. Earl says his wife picked the name “Impact.” General manager Jose A. Moreno said “Seattle” was chosen as a nod to the entire metro area, including Tacoma.

Tryouts will be held July 19-20.

The head coach will be Jason Dunn. Assistant head coach is Todd Haley.
