Here’s more reaction from the Sounders after their 1-0 win over San Jose:

Obafemi Martins – Sounders FC Forward
(On his goal…)
“I saw Gonzo (Pineda) with the ball, and I just made the run and he got me the ball. There was nothing I could do other than just play it over the top of the goalkeeper. Afterward, I wasn’t sure if I had scored, so I listened to the fans reaction.”

(On if it was a shot or cross) “I just want to score. It went in, so I’m glad.”

(On getting back on track after last week…) “It was a little bit disappointing last week. We were a little bit tired, but that’s no excuse. We were better this week, we scored early and got the three points back. The one thing now is to continue to win.”

Lamar Neagle – Sounders FC Midfielder
(On Martins’ goal)
That was beautiful, huh? I couldn’t believe it. It’s one of those you just throw your hands up and think about it and look in awe.

Stefan Frei – Sounders FC Goalkeeper
(On the new faces on the back line today…)
“They were fantastic. I had pretty much nothing to do. I thought we were very, very determined to keep that clean sheet today, so our organization was spot on. We limited the opponent to very few chances, so it was a great, great team effort.”

(On the full-stadium crowd…) “It was awesome. Our crowd is always great. It’s awesome if you can share that feeling you have when you get a win with so many people. The more the merrier.”

(On bouncing back with a shutout win…) “It’s great. We had a tough loss last week. It’s only three points but just the fashion we lost was very disappointing. We wanted to make sure we came back strong and show we have character. We kept the clean sheet today. We’ve been scoring lots of goals, but it’s always better if we keep the clean sheet. Today we only needed one goal, so it was great.”

Gonzalo Pineda – Sounders FC Midfielder
(On the win…)
“It’s just great. It’s always the best thing to win at home. It means more than other days because the last time we lost a crazy game. That hurt everybody, so today was the day that we needed to do something different, and we did. We did great. Winning is well deserved.”

(On assisting Martins’ goal…) “Pappa gave me the ball, I watched the movement of Oba (Martins) behind the defense, and just tried to put the ball there. It wasn’t that great of a pass, but Oba did great. The goal-the whole thing was Oba. I just did a small part, not too much.”

(On players stepping up to fill in for absences…) “I think we have a very good team. Everybody here can play. I think we have too much talent, if someone is not on the field then another can come and do great. Today, Kenny (Cooper), Zach (Scott), and Jalil (Anibaba) did just great, and when others came in they also did well. We have a very good team and we have too much talent. Anyone who can start can do very well.”
