Coach Sigi Schmid said the Sounders had a good training session this morning, as they concluded work for their regular-season finale Sunday vs. Los Angeles.

He gave these health updates:

On Obafemi Martins’ availability: Obafemi probably not. We wanted to go easier with him today. He had some treatment yesterday, so we wanted to see a day of rest for him. Eddie fine. Clint obviously the shoulder is always there a little bit if he falls on it wrong, but other than that he’s OK.

On if Martins or any other players held out tomorrow might also not be ready for the playoffs: That’s the reason we’re sitting (Oba) out. IN the case of Leo Gonzalez, it’s to make sure he’s ready for the first playoff game. He could play. If it were a playoff game tomorrow he could play. In the case of Obafemi, it’s to try and see if we can get him out there for that first playoff game.
