Sounders coach Sigi Schmid gave this update today: “Steve Zakuani hasn’t really trained since the Portland game, saying that the injury is just such that he doesn’t feel he’s going to be able to come back this season. But we’re sitting down today, we’re going to be able to talk about it in detail.”

Otherwise, Schmid said the health of his team is improving. He said Obafemi Martins (groin) trained until he felt pain and Djimi Traore (knee) was full-in. Shalrie Joseph (knee) has been ruled out for this week, but could come back in the club makes an extended run into the postseason.
