The Sounders have just come off the training pitch for the final time in advance of their 7 p.m. Wednesday home match with Vancouver.

The session ended with a few claps of thunder and about as drenching a rain storm as I can recall in my five years covering the team.

However, there was significant news as coach Sigi Schmid said that forward Obafemi Martins and defender Djimi Traore are cleared to play, and that designated player Clint Dempsey will be in the 18-man gameday roster.
