This just in from the club:

The Sounders FC announced today activities to celebrate Hispanic Heritage month in conjunction with the Sounders versus New York Red Bulls match on Sunday, September 29 at CenturyLink Field. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. and kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.

March to the Match activities begin at 4:20 p.m. at Occidental Park in Pioneer Square with performances by the Mariachi Wenatchee w/ Folklorico dancers and Sound Wave. Mariachi Wenatchee, a program of the Wenatchee School District, has been nationally recognized as the fastest growing Mariachi music programs outside of Mexico. More than 300 students participate in the program created for students ages 9-18. The troupe will also perform in the North Plaza and along Occidental Avenue near the southwest entrance.

There are plenty of transportation options for fans to access CenturyLink Field. Visit the team’s transportation guide at http://www.seahawks.com/gameday/transportation-guide/index.html.

Fans are invited to check-out the new Brougham Beer Hall, located on the main concourse at the southwest corner of the stadium, to take advantage of the $5 domestic beers and $6 craft pints promotion. The promotion is also available at all concession stands from the time gates open until 30 minutes before kickoff.

Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15 by celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America. The observation started in 1968 as Hispanic Heritage Week under President Lyndon Johnson and was expanded by President Ronald Reagan in 1988 to cover a 30-day period starting on September 15 and ending on October 15. It was enacted into law on August 17, 1988.
