ReignFCHere’s a news release from the club:

Seattle Reign FC will host Portland Thorns FC on the Moda Health Pitch at Starfire Stadium on Saturday, August 17 at 8pm PT in the season finale. Seattle (5-13-3, 18 pts.) will be looking to finish the season strong after failing to earn points during their recent three game road trip. Reign FC will be playing in front of a sellout crowd at Starfire for the second time this season.

Seattle will be seeking their first victory against Portland in their fourth and final meeting this year. Seattle has failed to earn a point against the Thorns (10-6-5, 35 pts.) this season, with 1-2, 0- 1 and 0-2 losses in the first three matches between the clubs. The Thorns may be without U.S. Women’s National Team star Alex Morgan, as she is recovering from a sprained MCL suffered in Portland’s loss to the Boston Breakers on August 7. Morgan is expected to return for the playoffs.

Seattle also has to be cautious, as two of their key players are sitting on four yellow cards – midfielder and leading goal scorer Jess Fishlock, and defender Kaylyn Kyle. One more yellow card for either player will result in a one-game suspension that will take effect at the start of the next NWSL season.

Portland will be looking for the win in an effort to secure home field advantage for the first round of the NWSL playoffs. Thorns FC is currently tied for second place with the Western New York Flash (9-4-8, 35 pts.) and Sky Blue FC (10-6-5, 35 pts.). Seattle and Portland will take to the Moda Health Pitch knowing the result of the Western New York vs. Boston match, as it is scheduled for kickoff at 5pm PST and will be televised live on the FOX Soccer Channel.

The match against Portland Thorns FC will be streamed live at www.ReignFC.com.
