Michael Gspurning suffered his forearm injury way back on July 13 at San Jose. But now that he’s returned to full training he was made available to the media today for the first time since then, and he was asked if he felt Steven Lenhart made a dirty play.

“I think he could have stopped,” he said. “But it’s OK now; I don’t blame him. We know what player he is: He is always giving 100 percent for he team, he was playing aggressively. … It’s OK for me. I was out three weeks and then he celebrated one week later on, he celebrated a goal. It’s tough, but it’s part of the game, but I’m over it, and I don’t feel bad about him now.”

Gspurning said he is still feeling the injury, but was encouraged by his return to full training today.

“It was a great feeling,” he said. “It was the first real session for me today. It was a good hour and a half, and it’s feeling good. Of course, it needs time to find back in the rhythm and also the hand, we look if it’s stable or stuff like this. But it looks good. That’s the positive of today. I’m very happy.”

Neither Gspurning nor coach Sigi Schmid was certain about the No. 1 keeper’s status for the Saturday match at Toronto.
