“Seattle Sounders FC Night at Cheney Stadium drew a crowd of 6,384, which a Rainiers spokesman said represented “a considerable bump” over the typical Thursday home crowd.

The Rainiers played in “rave green” jerseys, honoring the soccer club. (“They were bright,” said first bseman Rich Poythress, whose 10th inning home run won it for the Rainiers.) The jerseys were auctioned, raising $7,710 for Sounders FC Community Partners. The top bid was $500 for the jersey worn by Lamar Neagle, the Tacoma-born Sounders forward who threw out the ceremonial first pitch.

The basics: Rainiers vs. Tucson Padres. First picth 7:05. A few minutes before that, the ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by Tacoma-born Sounders forward/midfielder Lamar Neagle. Plenty of tickets available. Sounders-Rainiers scarves given to the first 2,000 fans. And — I’m sure this is coincidence — but it is also Thirsy Thursday $2 beer night.
