Jeld-Wen Field in Portland will be scene of Gold Cup doubleheader tonight.

Final: Costa Rica 3, Cuba 0.

After the match, Cuba coach Walter Benitez said he has no knowledge of Seattle Sounders FC midfielder Osvaldo Alonso’s long-held desire to play for the United States national team. Alonso defected from Cuba during the 2006 Gold Cup.

Halftime: Cuba 0, Costa Rica 0.

Pregame: I’m in Portland tonight for the CONCACAF Champions League double-header. And so are Sounders coach Sigi Schmid and others from the club.

“We’re always looking,” Schmid said Monday. “So we’ll watch the games that are here on Thursday. We’ll make sure we get somebody down to watch the games in Portland (on Tuesday) as well. And then you try to watch as many games as you can on TV.”

The games will be Cuba-Costa Rica at 5:30, followed by USA-Belize at 8 p.m. Both games will be televised on Fox Soccer.
