LogoSoundersThe Sounders are off the training pitch until Monday. They followed their intense Friday scrimmage with a light session of two-v-two soccer tennis.

“They worked hard yesterday on the intersquad scrimmage so this was just to get (regeneration work) in, have a little bit of fun and play some soccer tennis — for the team to have an easy day,” coach Sigi Schmid said. “Tomorrow’s off, and then we’ll get after it Monday and Tuesday — because we’ve had a lot of training days going into this (Wednesday) game against D.C.”

Osvaldo Alonso and Lamar Neagle went lighter still for fitness reasons, and DeAndre Yedlin was missing altogether due to a delay in his international travels from the U-20 World Cup.

“His flight coming out, they got delayed coming out of Turkey, so he missed the connection in New York, so he had to overnight in New York,” Schmid said. “He should get in here today.”

In other news — or non-news — general manager Adrian Hanauer said there is no change up or down in terms of on-going deals that could send Fredy Montero to Sporting Lisbon or extend Mario Martinez’s deal with the Sounders.
