If Sounders advance past Tampa Bay next week, they will host Portland Timbers or Wilmington Hammerheads (USL Pro) at Starfire.

Here are the potential fourth-round pairings from U.S. Soccer.

If the Sounders end up facing the Cinders in the cup, I sure hope Hanauer & co think long and hard about moving the game from Starfire to C. Link. If at Starfire, the match would sell out in 12 minutes, tops, and few would get to attend.

In prior Open cup match-ups v. the Cinders, in Portland, they had the games at Jeld-wen (and when it was PGE Park) that were packed to capacity – and were great road trips. It would be lame to have an open cup match here, against our arch rivals, and only approx 4,500 could attend – with not nearly the atmosphere that the match could have if 20,000+ were at C. Link.
