This just in from the league:

Houston Dynamo midfielder Brad Davis was voted Major League Soccer Player of the Week by the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR) for week seven of the 2013 MLS season.

Davis played a critical role in the Houston Dynamo’s historic 2-1 win over the Chicago Fire with an assist and game-winning goal. The Houston Dynamo now hold the all-time MLS record for home unbeaten streak with 35 consecutive wins.

Davis jumpstarted Houston’s offense in the 26th minute as he faked out his defender to get space, and put in a perfect cross to Will Bruin who headed it into the bottom right corner.

In the 81st minute with the game tied 1-1, Davis sent in a cross from outside the 18 yard box that went untouched into the bottom left corner of the goal.

Davis got my first-place vote, with my second going to Dallas defender George John, a former UW Husky.

The Houston Dynamo are back in action against Toronto FC at BMO Field on Saturday, April 20 at 4:00 p.m. ET (TSN).

The MLS Player of the Week is selected each week of the regular season by a panel of journalists from NASR. The group consists of members of print, television, radio and online media. More information and membership information can be found at
