Five Years Later: Anniversary of Inaugural Match on Tuesday
Tuesday marks the five year anniversary of Seattle’s inaugural match in Major League Soccer. On March 19, 2009, Sounders FC beat the New York Red Bulls 3-0 in front of 32,608. Fredy Montero scored the team’s first goal in the 11th minute, and completed the brace in the 75th minute. Brad Evans added the third goal against the 2008 MLS Cup runners-up.Scoring Summary
