Sounders FC has signed a couple of new players over the past few days, European defender Djimi Traore and rookie defender Dylan Remick.

Here’s some reaction on both moves:

Coach Sigi Schmid on the signing defender Traore: He’s a player who’s got experience at the highest levels and played in the biggest games. So he’s a guy who’s going to help our team, help our young players. You know, we’ve got three young guys back there that we’re trying to grow and develop. He’s going to help them grow and develop as players. And he fit in great with our group. He came in, he’s a talented soccer player, he’s left-footed – we haven’t had a left-footed center back in a while. But he also just fits really well with the group.

Remick on signing his contract: It felt really good. It was a dream come true to get that contract. Extremely happy. Thankful that the organization is giving me this opportunity. All the guys have been great so far through preseason. It’s been a great experience. The dream is just starting now, and I’m just looking forward to the future.
