It’s the final day of the Desert Diamond Cup in Tucson, and a pair of Eastern and Western rivals will match up in each game: New England and New York in the consolation match, Salt Lake and Seattle in the championship.
The consolation game already has kicked off, with the Revs taking a 1-0 lead on a penalty kick in the opening minutes. And the crowd already is several times larger than it ever was Wednesday. Which is understandable, as Wednesday featured rain and snow, and today is postcard beautiful.
I’ll open a new post before the Sounders match, which kicks off at 5 p.m. and will be televised on NBCSN.
