Reign starts April 14 at Chicago; home opener May 4

NWSLSeattle Reign FC will open its first National Women’s Soccer League on April 14 at Chicago. That’s the first of three road games that open the Reign’s schedule — the others are April 21 at Portland and April 26 at Kansas City — before the home opener at Starfire: May 4 vs. FC Kansas City.

The National Women’s Soccer League today announced the complete 22-match schedule for Seattle Reign FC in 2013, with all 11 home dates to be played at Starfire Stadium in Tukwila, Wash.

Reign FC will play its first three games on the road, beginning April 14 at Chicago.

Seattle’s home opener is May 4 versus FC Kansas City. There will be a home stand of four consecutive matches at Starfire from May 16>June 9 and another from June 29 July 14. The final regular season game for Reign FC will be at home against the Portland Thorns FC on August 17.

Seattle plays Portland, Chicago and Kansas City four times, two home and two away.

Reign FC meets Washington and Western New York on three occasions and faces Sky Blue FC and Boston twice each.

Supporters will have the opportunity to see Alex Morgan and Christine Sinclair twice in the 2013 season, along with visits from Sydney Leroux on July 3 and Abby Wambach on Wednesday, August 7.

Seattle Reign FC is one of eight founding members of the NWSL. U.S. National Team stars Hope Solo and Megan Rapinoe were among the seven international players assigned to Seattle in the allocation process. Reign FC is coached by Laura Harvey, formerly manager of London’s Arsenal Ladies.
