The Sounders are back at Starfire this drizzly Monday morning in Tukwila. But there is a smaller roster now, as the first cuts of camp were made over the weekend.

Trialists still with the club are Doug Herrick, Phillip Lund, Guy Essame, Travis Bowen and Ashani Fairclough, along with draft picks Eriq Zavaleta, Dylan Remick, Lebogang Moloto, Kevin Olali and Jennings Rex.

“Obviously we had looked at some guys,” coach Sigi Schmid said. “We were happy with what we saw. We kept a couple of guys out of that group. One that we let go we said, kinda, stay in touch because we might want you back in, depending on how it goes because there could be a positional type of need for us there. All our draft choices are still here. A lot of the young guys have been doing all right. We’ve been very pleased with some of the young guys who just got here.”

Names missing from the roster today were Marvin Angulo, Manuel Asprilla, Jose Cuevas, Justin Davis, Cody Ellison, Ross LaBauex, David Opoku, Jonas Rasmussen and Isaiah Schafer.

The name of midfielder Lamar Neagle, reacquired yesterday from Montreal, also has been added.
