Sounders open 2013 season March 2, hosting Montreal

Sounders FC will kick off its 2013 MLS season March 2 with a home match against the Montreal Impact.

This will be Montreal’s first appearance at CenturyLink Field.

Here’s the release from the club.

After their MLS opener, the Sounders will will play Tigres of Mexico in the CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal. The two-leg, aggregate-goal series will begin on March 5-7 in Torreon, Mexico and conclude on March 12-14 in Seattle.

Below is the MLS news regarding all 19 home-openers:

Major League Soccer today announced the 2013 home openers for each of its 19 clubs. The League’s 18th season will kick off on Saturday, March 2, 2013 with six matches and continue that same weekend with three games on Sunday, March 3. All MLS clubs will play in front of their home fans by the end of Week 4.

Times and broadcast information for these games will be announced in the coming weeks as part of the complete 2013 regular season schedule announcement. Each club will again play 34 games during the regular season.

FC Dallas vs. Colorado Rapids (FC Dallas Stadium)
