There was sort of an ultimate good news/bad news situation from Sounders training this morning, where forward Eddie Johnson (adductor) worked and was declared ready for Thursday’s game at RSL; however midfielder Mauro Rosales (hamstring) was held out and his availability was declared in doubt.

Coach SIGI SCHMID
On Rosales:
We wanted to keep him inside today. They wanted to do some testing and so forth. We have a chance to get him to play in the game on Thursday. So we’ll know tomorrow, but we wanted him to stay off the field today.

On if he is in doubt for Thursday: Possibly. We have to look at what everything says, what the medical people say. And then we’ll have an idea exactly if he’ll be able to go. It’s like Eddie’s a little bit. It’s not as bad as we initially felt it was, maybe. So now it’s just a matter of seeing how he comes along.

On if Eddie Johsnon is in doubt: No.

Johnson confirmed that.

“I feel good,” he said. “It’s good to get back out to training, running around and playing with the guys. I’m feeling good. I’m looking forward to the game. It’s an important game for us. We know the importance of it. We worked hard all year, set goals for these moments as a team, and we’re looking forward to the game.”
