Sounders coach Sigi Schmid was asked tonight if the club is frustrated about not getting a win at home in the aggregate-score series against RSL.
He delivered one of the great quotes I’ve heard him offer over my four seasons covering the team:
“We could sit here and we could lament about it and we could cry about it and we can say ‘Oh, jeez that was terrible; wow, what are we going to do; oh woe is me; the sky is falling; are we going to be able to cross the road and not get hit by a car? We can talk about all these things right now, but at the end of the day we’ve got to get ready for a game on Thursday, and we have to build on what was good. And what was good was we created chances, what was good was we kept them pretty much at bay the majority of the game, and what was good was I thought we worked very hard. … If we play the same way in Salt Lake, I think we come away with the result.”
