Real Salt Lake played to a scoreless draw with Vancouver tonight in Utah.

The result pushed RSL one point ahead of Seattle in the Western Conference standings. However, it also means that Seattle passes Salt Lake for No. 2 seeding in the West with either a win or a draw Sunday in its match with the LA Galaxy. With a loss, the Sounders would finish third.

In either case, Seattle and RSL will open the playoffs against each other in a home-and-away, aggregate-score series. The No. 2 seed is awarded the advantage of playing the deciding second game at home.

Meanwhile, a win in LA also would push Seattle into third place in the overall league standings behind San Jose and Kansas City. That would mean that if Seattle advances to MLS Cup, the game would be played at CenturyLink Field with any opponent other than SKC.
