Tifo featuring Sounders coach Sigi Schmid before Timbers' match.

One the last question was asked of coach Sigi Schmid after training today, he asked for a moment to once again offer thanks to Sounders supporters for the tifo they displayed before the Sounders-Timbers match on Sunday.

“I wanted to thank the fans for putting up the tifo. I thought it was a better likeness than I expected. I thought it was a great honor. It was something that I wasn’t really able to address after the game – I know we touched upon it briefly – but it was something that really touched me that they would do that. But I think it’s a reflection again of our fans. I know just recently, I guess the Guardian voted us one of the top tifos in the world. That’s the effort that they put in, and it never ceases to amaze me what our fans are able to do, and the guys feel the same every time out.”

How completely sick is it that The Guardian, of London, the epicenter of the EPL, shows the ECS tifo to Sigi, as one of the world’s best?!?!

    Sigi is a genius.

If you haven’t heard Alys and Gas’ interview with Sigi from KJR today, give it a listen. Gas alertly asked Sigi about his comment RE “This is the best thing that has happened to me in soccer…”

The dude won NCAA Championship w/ UCLA, MLS Cup, and Seattle Sounders top his list.

    Sigi is the Man.

    Go Sounders!!!

PPS – After reviewing all the tifos displayed by The Guardian,
    ECS is #1!
