Here’s a playoff update from the league:

With a 2-0 win over the Chicago Fire tonight, Sporting Kansas City clinched the first Eastern Conference playoff spot in front their 14th consecutive sellout crowd at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park.

Tomorrow, Seattle Sounders FC will face the Vancouver Whitecaps FC for a chance to secure a spot in the playoffs. With a win or a tie, Seattle would join the San Jose Earthquakes, Real Salt Lake and the LA Galaxy in the West.

Three teams from the Western Conference and one team from the Eastern Conference are facing elimination from playoff contention as the Portland Timbers, Colorado Rapids, Chivas USA, and Philadelphia Union are playing this weekend to keep their postseason hopes alive.

Seattle Sounders FC will clinch a playoff spot IF

· Seattle Sounders FC win or tie vs. Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Saturday

OR

· FC Dallas tie or lose vs. San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday
