Goalkeeper Marcus Hahnemann trains with Sounders today at Starfire.

The Sounders ran through a quick training session today at Starfire before heading to the airport for the trip to Houston and then Honduras for their Wednesday match at Marathon.

Sounders coach Sigi Schmid said Mauro Rosales, Christian Tiffert, David Estrada and newly acquired goalkeeper Marcus Hahnemann will not be traveling with the club… although any and all could be ready Saturday when San Jose visits for a big league match.

In other news, Hahnemann also met with media, saying that he had assumed he was retired until things unfolded where he could become a Sounder. Now he says his plan is to play this season and next with his hometown team.

General manager Adrian Hanauer also met with media on the Hahnmann acquisition. I’ll have more from both interviews later, but the main message from Hanauer is that the signing was made for soccer purposes, not for the sentiment of allowing Hahnemann end his great career in a Sounders crest.

More from all interviews soon.
